Naked Swimmers

“It’s only when the tide goes out that you can see who’s been swimming naked.”
– Warren Buffet.

Strange days.
Full tide on hold, the moon holds her breath.
As the uncertain waters recede, certain truths are revealed.
Bluffers, blusterers, buffoons huddle together, exposed.

Artemis shudders.
Homados is rendered shallow, silent.
Koalemos grows louder, defiant, worried.
Harpocrates smirks.

But in these days of naked truth
Their wrinkled vacuity is clear for all to see.
The tide will come in again, they think.
And it will.

But they’ll be washed up by then,
Vulgar pretenders,
Naked on the shores of a new integrity.
